I have seen this term used and finally became compelled to learn more about it. The You Tube video (Web 2.0) on this page is a pretty good explantion. Tim O'Reilly's article "What Is Web 2.0 - Design Patterns and Business Models for the Next Generation of Software" contains a more detailed and technical explanation, http://www.oreilly.com/lpt/a/6228.
Spme say Web 2.0 is a marketing term and others says it is a different way of building applications. The world wide web has become more democratic, personal and do it yourself. Users are more easily communicating with other users. The power of the user and social networking is being harnessed. Well that's where I'm at with my understanding. I also have some more sites I want to learn more about so I can take advantage of Web 2.0 as well. |
